Meat Cove Outfitters
Price and information Sheet
Moose hunting in Nova Scotia is done through a lottery which is ran by the Nova Scotia government and only residents can apply. We do not have tags that we can sell. We guide in the Polletts Cove Wilderness Area (zone 5) the non-motorized zone.
The price of our moose hunts is as follows:
Zone 5 $3500
Zone 1 $2500
Late hunt in December $2500
All hunts are fully guided. For the zone 5 hunt price each hunting party gets a 12x14 outfitters camp for themselves (all camps have wood floors) with everything in it that you will need such as; eating utensils, pots and pans, propane stove with propane, propane lights, wood stove with wood and three cots. You will have to bring your own food. All of our camps are inside the wilderness area. For zone one and the December hunt, we can find accommodations for you but at your expense. We use horses and ATV's to bring the moose and your gear in and out of the wilderness area. We also have a walk-in cooler to store the meat.
We do all the work for you, from skinning and quartering of your moose to get it off the mountain to our cooler. The only thing you have to do is shoot the moose and we will take care of the rest, but we certainly don’t mind if you want to help. The horses are for getting the moose out, we don't use them for hunting.
We have seven outfitters camps located on three different mountains, and only we have access. If you don’t want to stay up on the mountain, we also have a cozy lodge (if available) you can stay at, or if you’d prefer we can find another place for you to stay. When you get picked in the lottery and book with us, we will need a deposit to hold your spot.
The zone’s and seasons we guide in are; zone 5 seasons 1 through 6, zone 1 season 1 and 2 and the late hunt in December. There are seven of us that work together as a group to make sure you have a safe and successful hunt. We have been guiding moose hunters in Pollett’s Cove Wilderness Area (zone 5) for 35 years. References available upon request
